Fertilizing gives your lawn the nutrients it needs to kickstart growth, but mowing too early after the winter months can actually harm your turf. Agitating the grass before it has had a chance to establish deep roots can stunt its growth or even kill it.

For those of us in Massachusetts, late April is generally a good time to consider firing up the lawnmower for the first spring trim. While this can be a helpful guideline, a better indicator is the height of your new grass. It's best to wait until it's at least 3 inches tall before mowing.

Since grass utilizes most of its energy to grow during the spring, it's crucial to follow some essential turf care tips.

By being mindful of these tips and giving your lawn the care it needs, you can set the stage for a healthy and vibrant lawn throughout the spring and into the summer months.
